JEWELLERY CARE GUIDE

To get the very best from your beautiful new piece of jewellery, lovingly handmade just for you. I have put together a little care guide, to help keep your jewellery looking as good as new.
All of my pieces of jewellery are made using 925 Stirling silver at or pure 999 silver clay. All silver will unfortunately tarnish a little over time naturally, but with good care this can be minimised.
-
Avoid extreme heat, humidity and sunlight as this can cause tarnishing of silver. – Remove jewellery when you shower or bathe and please remove when in the swimming pool or hot tub ( lucky you!) As silver does not do too with in chlorinated water.
-
Equally if you are on the beach or in the sea I would also recommend removing your jewellery, and storing it in a safe place.
-
-
Avoid wearing your jewellery when cleaning, especially when using a bleach solution.
-
Take extra care when applying lotions and potions, Avoid spraying perfume or applying creams directly onto your jewellery.
-
Remove jewellery when doing chores such as gardening or washing up (or better yet get someone else to do the jobs for you)
-
Store your jewellery individually in a soft lined box or a little pouch to prevent them becoming tangled up or scratched. An air tight bag also helps keep silver pieces all shiny.( Ideally keep your jewellery in a cool dark place- not the fridge though! As that would be a little strange and very cold when you put it on! )
-
To get that good as new shine, Clean your jewellery with a soft lint free silver polishing cloth, this works beautifully for all silver, Stirling silver. Gold and rose gold plated jewellery.
-
If your new piece of jewellery is made with gemstones please avoid hot water, cleaning products and harsh chemicals at all times. I would recommend you clean your semi-precious and precious stones using a soft damp cloth, unless it is a very porous stone such as turquoise or emerald then a soft dry cloth is best. (I will advise this on a piece by piece basis, so you can take the best care of your piece.) please do not use paper towels or tissues to clean the stones as this can scratch them.
